BIO: I grew up in suburban Melbourne. I am the second child of Margaret and John; my older brother’s name is Adam. I had a relatively ‘normal’ childhood and upbringing. We moved to Brisbane in 1988.
I went to a school with one of the best reputations and a school with one of the worst reputations When I finished school I decided to attend University, and thankfully had the O.P score to allow me to do a Bachelor of Arts at Griffith University.
I completed one and a half years of Uni before making some bad choices and ending up on heroin. I was using heroin for almost 3 years when I moved into prostitution. I had a bad habit that, like an animal, needed to be fed. I found myself lost, alone and confused.
Unsure of who I was or what I was doing. I somehow managed to escape the clutches of the vicious cycle of the working-using-working and tried to get myself straight. Needless to say it didn’t work.
Eventually, after almost 6 years as a full-blown addict I found a way out. I found a doctor that was willing to treat me with Naltrexone and a place in a support house, for people trying to break free from the shackles of addiction. The house happened to be Christian and part of the program included going to church, prayer meetings, bible studies etc. I thought it was ridiculous. That was until the day that I encountered Jesus in a very personal way and He changed my life forever.
That was seven years ago, in July 1999. I turned 31 in April 2006.
I am now a wife to a loving and awesome husband Jason and the mother to three amazing and precious daughters Grace, Rebekah and Lauryn.We have also just founded a charity called HOPE FOUNDATION - to bring hope, help and healing to the ones like I used to be!! My life has not just turned around; it has changed into something absolutely beautiful. It truly is nothing short of a miracle.
So I have decided to share my testimony with you, and my vision is for all people to read this story and be amazed and touched in a life-altering way. The book is called, “Trophy of Grace”. I have self-published it and am hoping that I will be able to spread it worldwide – it really is a story that needs to be heard/read to be believed.
